Maintenance and cleaning

Sprint Filter air filters are designed for long-term use and require only simple maintenance.

The patented polyester filtering media does not need oil and can be regenerated using compressed air. If the filter is particularly dirty, it can also be washed with water and a mild detergent before being dried and reinstalled.

Cleaning steps

1. Remove the filter

Carefully remove the air filter from the airbox, following the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions.

Inspect the filter and check the level of dirt before cleaning.

2. Clean with compressed air

Use compressed air to remove dust and dirt from the filtering media.

Blow the air from the clean side towards the dirty side, keeping the nozzle at a safe distance from the filter surface.

For normal maintenance, compressed air is usually all that is required.

3. Wash only when necessary

If the filter is particularly dirty, wash it gently using water and a mild detergent.

Avoid aggressive chemicals or products that could damage the filtering media or its supporting structure.

4. Dry the filter

After washing, remove excess water using compressed air at a safe distance.

When compressed air is not available, allow the filter to dry naturally.

Do not use direct heat sources.

5. Reinstall the filter

Once the filter is completely clean and dry, place it back into the filter housing.

Make sure it is correctly positioned and that the airbox is properly closed before using the vehicle.
